We started by analyzing all of the issues we were having as a company to try to determine where we were losing profit. Throughout the process, we created new systems and set financial goals for the company and implemented those systems and processes into the company. We are now exceeding our financial goals.
We worked together to create metrics and systems that were custom to what we do. It allowed us to track our sales, estimating, production, installation, and receivables. It gave us all the information we needed not only for today but also for the future. That gave us the ability to make changes far enough in advance before anything became detrimental to the company.
We also created budgets. Our budgets allow us to price our jobs more accurately and plan accordingly based on the amount of hours that we've planned for. With that information we can now look further in the future and plan accordingly and run more efficiently.
Before, we were a company that ran everything off a gut feel. We had no systems in place and everything ran through me as the business owner, which totally inhibited our growth. After meeting with River and the team we put the systems in place to allow us to reach double-digit profits and manage our growth moving forward.

When River came in, he helped us to organize our business from a financial standpoint. He gave us a cash flow analysis as well as a break-even point. We now know our numbers forwards and backwards.
Before, we were just “guesstimating”. River was able to fine tune our bidding process and make our estimating more accurate. He was able to help us with our costs by extrapolating data from our fuel pricing, insurance, maintenance, repairs, etc. Even with the volatility in the market, we are now able to maintain our profitability.
Before River came in, (my wife) and I were working in the business basically like a hamster on a wheel. He was able to put in systems and processes that made us more organized, ultimately doubling our profitability. Now we're able to look ahead and strategically plan for growth.

The greatest benefits I hope to enjoy will be our increased knowledge and timely reporting of our financials and cashflow management. I have been “winging it” now for far too long. River also dived deep into our budgeting and scheduling software BuilderTrend and has really opened our eyes on all the benefits the software has to offer. From pre-construction process all the way through production and the final certificate of occupancy, we are in a much better place to work faster and more efficiently, hence making more money.
The other area that I think could benefit us the most, especially as it pertains to increasing profits, is our hourly billing to clients. We have implemented a new process where we will be getting compensated for many hours of work that we were not getting paid for in the past. This will be a game changer for our bottom line.

I am grateful to River and Fred for accomplishing the most important task in my opinion - the development in my confidence and skill for me to step into the leadership role as Vice President. I still have a lot to learn but thanks to their help and instruction I am capable and confident I can do this job well.
Centralized purchasing for all five locations is also something we are extremely excited about. This, in time, will provide us with better buying power and more profitability. Another goal we achieved, with your help, was updating our entire inventory system. By helping us communicate with our software company, we were able to clean up and trim the fat of old, invalid, and wrong item numbers.
Our President, myself, and all of our team members are very excited with the new direction and structure of our company. We are ready, willing, and able to continue to grow and pull ourselves out of the stagnate state that we were in. With River and Fred’s help we are now able to better control our gross profit and continue to be profitable in good times and bad.
